Sales Ledger Clerk

We have a fantastic opportunity for Sales Ledger Clerk to join our distribution client at their offices in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. This is a varied role, will suit a dynamic and motivated individual. You will be reporting into the Credit Manager, supporting the existing finance team.

Main Duties

In your role as Sales Ledger Clerk you will be supporting all aspects of the sales ledger function and carrying out a range of tasks including:

  • Reconcile cash receipts to general ledger postings.
  • Record debit and credit adjustments to customer accounts.
  • Record and post returned merchandise and warranty credits refunds.
  • Process return credits and credit memos.
  • Record credits to customer accounts from vendor payments.
  • Issue credit card and PayPal refunds.
  • Respond to credit card declined orders.
  • Post and issue copies of invoices.

Experience Required

The right person for this role will have a strong background in a sales ledger position. Have a flexible approach and be confident working as part of a team. You must also be able to work in a fast-paced working environment.

Essential skills

You should have strong communication skills and be a confident problem solver. We’re looking for someone with a can-do attitude who is a self-motivator. As is good organisation skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel) – Essential
  • Excellent numeracy skills – Essential
  • AAT Level 2/3 is preferred
