We are working with a progressive business who are looking to recruit a Data Protection Analyst on a temporary basis, there is a possibility of this role being recruited on a permanent business. This organisation has shone in terms of its support to its people throughout the pandemic and therefore a fantastic opportunity to join a business that invests in its people.

The role of Data Protection Analyst is to support their ambitious growth plans surrounding a digital programme. You will be a key member of the Risk and Compliance function and will support and challenge the wider business on all data protection aspects to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In addition, you will support on the implementation and maintenance of an effective data governance framework across the business.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review of data protection incidents and ensure correct closure and future prevention
  • Drive data protection awareness across the business
  • Provide technical support and challenge to change initiatives
  • Implementation of ongoing data protection related tasks, such as data subject rights requests or data privacy impact assessments
  • Review and analyse existing processes and practices and help to identify data protection risks and solutions
  • Support the risk function in assessing, understanding and reporting data privacy risks
  • Support internal privacy and compliance audits
  • Undertake research on regulatory requirements and best practice
  • A thorough understanding of GDPR and its practical application
  • Develop relevant GDPR policies and procedures for the company to follow (e.g. subject access requests)
  • Effectively communicate data protections risks across the business

 

To support you in this role, processes and procedures are already developed and in place to support the regulations, but you will be tasked in helping to review and maintain our data protection framework, data governance processes and ensuring that privacy by design is embedded in all our change programmes.

 

In order to be successful in this role you must have strong technical experience of data protection regulation, including GDPR implementation. It is essential that you have experience of building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks within a fast paced working environment.
