Credit Control & Billing Manager required to take on a leadership role within this established team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a superb business, one that is high performing, challenging & will keep you very busy in 2021.

Reporting directly into the FC with exposure to the CFO and wider business. You will have visibility across the business. This is a super opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within a forward thinking, fast paced and innovative business.

Based in Crewe working for a well-established organisation you will be tasked with leading the Credit and Billing Team and will play an integral role in the delivery of a best in class finance function. Working for a caring and nurturing company it is essential that you place a high level of customer focus and delivery as a priority.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the credit & billing team to deliver the key objectives of the department
  • Develop team members in accordance with agreed action plans
  • Ensure the organisations robust risk, compliance and audit culture is embedded within the department
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of transactions (invoice creation & payment allocation)
  • Ensure that transactions are processed in accordance with the internal control framework
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Direct Debit process
  • Continually look to identify and implement improvements
  • Maintain a strong working capital position for the business by ensuring that credit control procedures are followed and aged debt targets are achieved
  • Continually look to improve the timeliness of debt recovery and minimise bad debt levels
  • Provide relevant and timely management information to key stakeholders to ensure the performance of the team is clear and understood
  • Continually look to evolve the management reporting to ensure it keeps up to date with the changing needs of the department and business
  • Work with the relevant project teams to ensure the successful delivery of all associated aspects of major transformation project
  • Take a lead role in any other projects that impact the department

 

Experience Required

  • Management experience
  • Demonstrable ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables
  • Constantly striving to identify and implement improvements
  • Ability to lead a team through a period of change
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills

 

Qualifications Required

  • CICM accreditation and/or qualification – desirable but not essential
