Accounts Assistant

We have a new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a business who design, manufacture, supply and install specialist equipment. Our client is based near to Madeley and they are a market leader in their field.

Working within the Accounts department and reporting into the Accounts Supervisor, you will be supporting all aspects of purchase and sales ledger. If you have also worked in Payroll then that is a bonus too!

The business is looking for an experienced and motivated individual with a positive approach to their work.  You will need to work using your own initiative as part of a fast paced team and have previous experience of working to tight deadlines.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing and processing sales invoices and credit notes
  • Processing purchase invoices and credit notes
  • Making payments to suppliers
  • Liaising with other departments, customers and suppliers to resolve queries
  • Raising copy invoices, Statements and Credit Notes as required
  • Processing of card payments and allocations
  • Supporting month end and year end close processes to ensure deadlines are always met
  • Responsible for archiving, filing and scanning relevant paperwork


Essential Skills

  • Ideally you will be AAT qualified, however part qualified candidates will also be considered
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Must be confident in working with numbers
  • Confident in Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience in Accounts, Purchase and Sales Ledger is essential
